Austin B Cook is the CEO of Anchored Security Professionals, a company that specializes in providing comprehensive security solutions for individuals, small businesses, and organizations. With over 25 years of experience in the law enforcement, security industry, and public education, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field. He holds a MS in Criminology, which have given him a deep understanding of the complexities of safety, security, supervision, and the criminal justice system. Under his leadership, Anchored Security Professionals has become a trusted partner for businesses and organizations looking to protect their assets and ensure the safety of their employees and consumers. Austin continued his education in the security field by earning an Associate Protection Professional certification through ASIS International and becoming an active member of N.O.B.L.E.
From 1999-2012, Austin worked for the New York State Department of Juvenile Justice. He quickly moved up through the ranks until he became a part of the New York State Training Bureau as a Facility Training Coordinator. He supervised the training staff and managed the training schedule for 4 state facilities. In 2012, Austin decided to take his skills to the New York State Public School System. He worked as a Senior Crisis Counselor for a school district that had over 5000 students and 240 staff. During this time, Austin attended Cornel University and received his certification as a trainer in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. As the Sr Crisis Counselor, he was responsible for the training of the district faculty and staff in de-escalation techniques, emotional competency, self-protection, and physical intervention. His insight and experience led to several safety protocols and security procedure enhancements for the district. In 2021, Austin retired from New York State service and relocated to Northwest Indiana. He is now using his same successful business model and security knowledge to expand the company in the Chicagoland Area.
